Do you own property? Then you are required by law to undergo a Gas Safety check once a year. Also, to ensure that their gas appliances are reliable and secure, landlords must have them frequently maintained. According to the Gas Safety (Installation and Usage) Regulations of 1998, it is the law.
Every 12 months, landlords are required by law to have all gas appliances, piping, chimneys, and flues inspected to ensure that the rental property is safe for the renters.
You will receive your Gas Safety Certificate, also known as a CP12 Certificate, once this check is finished. A copy of it must be given to current tenants within 28 days, and a new tenant must receive one when they move in.
Make sure to hang onto previous certifications because CP12s must be stored for a minimum of two years.
